Dear Malir Community,
Each year, as new students step onto our campus, I am reminded of the noble variety of journeys that converge here. Each student brings with them a constellation of beliefs, traditions, and hopes shaped by their families, community, and experience.
I believe a university is not a mere gathering of uniform minds, but a living symposium of inquiry, conviction, and courage to listen across differences. When a university commits to pluralism and public life, it’s embracing the idea that education should reflect the diversity of the world we live in. It’s not about forcing agreement; it’s about creating a space where different ideas can be expressed and heard without any judgment. In this environment, students learn that disagreement is not a threat; it’s an opportunity, and they can still walk undividedly with a deeper understanding, new insights, and a broader view of the world.
We laid down the foundation of Malir University of Science and Technology that prioritizes this diversity of thought-process, pluralism, and public life, that sees itself as part of the democratic fabric, instead of isolated ivory towers.
